Penny Markt is the third largest discount supermarket chain in Eurpe. It is  based in Germany and owned by the Rewe group.  Founded in 1973, it operates approximately 3,000 stores in Europe and employs a workforce of 35,000 employees. Its assortment consists of 1,400 products covering the every-day needs and being sold at low prices. In 2009 Penny markt at a revenue of over 10 billion EUR.
